SUPER Eagles and Hoffenheim FC of Germany striker, Chinedu Obasi who scored a fantastic goal in the opening game against Egypt at the last Nations Cup in Angola, has said that Nigeria must improve in her game ahead of the World Cup holding in June in South-Africa.
Speaking with Goal.com, he stated that the Super Eagles always play under pressure, just as he admitted that the team failed to impress at Angola 2010.
"In Nigeria, people expect us to win games, they are passionate about football. It can't be like that. This on its own is pressure, but we understand. We didn’t play good football at the start of the Cup of Nations, I can’t point fingers as to what exactly led to that, but we all knew that we were not playing well.
"Life is like that, sometimes you plan for something and it doesn’t turn out the way you had planned it. The World Cup has to be different for us because there is so much at stake. We just need to work a bit harder and improve on our shortcomings.
"We know that we will have a tough job at the World Cup. We are up against some tough teams like Argentina, with top players like Lionel Messi. It’s important for us to prove that we can play our own game against the best,” Obasi said.
